Meet Mari

photographer & founder

Hi! I am Maria Alvarez and I am so, so happy that you are here.

I am a photographer and writer who has been in love with art since I was a child. To me, family and faith are the biggest pillars in my life. My brothers are my best friends and I truly believe that love is the only thing in the world that gives meaning to our lives.

I love baking, reading, painting, LOTR, dancing in my room, being surrounded by nature, having deep conversations, home decor, and so much more! Even though there are so many things I love, writing and photography are my biggest passions in life. I believe that there is a miracle to be found in the gaze of a lover and in the eyes of the person receiving that love.

Among the places I find inspiration the most are: poetry, nature, books, family time, music, other artists, and my mom.

I get inspiration from so many places! Among them are poetry, nature, books, family time, music, and especially my mom.

It all started with nature. I loved taking pictures of nature in general: sunsets, trees, flowers, birds, etc. – I was in awe by its beauty. Eventually, I was also able to recognize a deep desire of capturing the ordinary, yet sacred moments in life, especially the ones spent with loved ones.

My faith is the main pillar of everything I am doing in life. I have come to learn that only in relationship with Christ I have been able to find purpose and meaning.

Also, Mari Alvarez Photography has been entrusted to Saint Joseph 🤍 hence the lilies in the logo 🙂
